The micro X-ray CT was established through joint engineering and medical research, and allows for the visualization of tiny structures in three dimensions. By examining the blood vessels of mice in detail via micro CT, researchers compared the vessels in mice to those in humans and identified characteristic mouse blood vessels that provide a circulation bypass when the femoral artery becomes clogged.
